As a new pond owner, you probably have a lot of questions:

Sorry to hear you're losing water in your pond. Luckily, you can take some steps before we come out to save yourself time and money - and maybe even fix the problem yourself.

Step 1: Please run this 24-Hour Test before scheduling your service visit. This test will help us pinpoint the location of the leak or water loss. Just follow these steps:

1. Unplug the pump.

2. Fill the pond to the full level and take a picture.

3. Leave the pond sitting at a full level without the waterfall running for 24 hours.

4. Note the water level after the 24 hours. Take a picture.

Step 2: Please check your pond for these other common causes of water loss:

1. Check the top of your waterfall for built-up leaves, sticks or other debris that could be pushing water out of the pond.

2. Check the edges of your pond liner for areas where the edges sit lower than they should. Your liner might have slipped where somebody stepped on it or heavy rains washed away the surrounding soil.

3. Lots of suspected leaks turn out to be nothing more than normal evaporation. Has the weather been especially hot and dry lately? Do you have a large, splashy waterfall susceptible to losing water?

Please check here to confirm that you've ruled out debris build-up, pushed-down liner and evaporation as possible causes of your water loss. *

I have checked for these issues and ruled them out as possible causes.
