This pond started as a compromise. The husband wanted an aquarium; the wife wanted a swimming pool. They met halfway and ended up with something even better.

Their koi pond runs the width of the backyard, starting on one end with a waterfall that flows into the long pond below. A stepping stone allows for easy crossing to the rest of the yard. Next to the pond, an elevated deck offers the perfect vantage point from which to watch the fish and enjoy the sound of flowing water.
