The Splash team was honored in 2012 to help design and build the water features at the Veterans Memorial Gold Star Healing and Peace Garden.

The Gold Star Garden started as the dream of Cher Kondor, whose son, SPC Martin W. Kondor, died in action in Iraq in 2004. The garden – located in the York Memorial Park Complex – includes the engraved names of men and women like Martin who gave their lives for their country.

The garden features two fountains – one in a reflecting pool at the garden’s entrance, and another in the center. A star-shaped walkway and grassy area form the garden’s center.

Carefully chosen plants representing concepts like healing, courage and valor surround the central walkways, giving families a place to reflect and show respect for those who truly sacrificed everything.
