Sept. 23, 2019 was the beginning of a new season for Splash.
We lost our store in a fire that ripped through the building in minutes. The retail area is completely destroyed.
But we have so many blessings to count.
Nobody was in the store when the fire broke out. No one was injured. Fire crews arrived quickly and did an amazing job fighting an incredibly hot blaze.
And with as many things as we lost - dozens of fish, an untold number of products, irreplaceable works of art and a building we've called home for several years - we also saved more than we could have hoped for.
Our incredible crew rescued several turtles and lots of fish. Our backyard gardens - including the fish in the ponds - look as serene and beautiful as ever.
We can't thank you enough for all your thoughts and prayers as we pick up the pieces. The outpouring of support on our Facebook page and in your calls, texts and messages means more to us than you could ever imagine.
So what happens next? We do what we've always done: keep going.
We'll have ways for you to buy the supplies you need for your pond. Fill out this form, let us know what you need and we'll find a way to get it to you.
Our crews will also continue service and installation work. We're running a few days behind schedule, so we appreciate your patience.
We couldn't ask more of you than you've already given. But, if you feel inclined to help, we have two favors to ask:
First, many of you saw the huge pile of canned goods we've collected over the past year for the York Regional Dream Center's food bank. You donated close to 1,400 pounds of food this year - most of which went up in flames. Let's see if we can make up that loss the food bank experienced by replacing those cans. Check out the Dream Center's website for details.
Second, we had an event coming up Oct. 12 to support Lesa's fight against ALS. You might know Lesa's brother, Carl, as the helpful guy answering your questions in our store. Lesa has been accepted into a clinical trial to help find a potential treatment for ALS, but the trial carries with it a lot of expenses and a lot of unknowns.
We're excited to announce that Bald Hills Distillery in Dover has generously offered their space so the benefit can go on as planned. Here are the details:

Finally, we just want to say thank you again for your thoughts and prayers.
We’re still in a state of shock, but we will rebuild, and we’ll be back better and stronger than ever.
The adventure goes on.
